Folks, because of the pandemic,

I'm not planning a Cuba trip this year.

Stay safe, Fab Ones.  And fingers crossed for 2022!

Vocal Harmony A Cappella Workshop: Feb 26th - Mar 4th

NEW! 613 Casual Choir Workshop: Mar 4th - 11th

Folks, what a couple of great weeks!

The Vocal Harmony Workshop

This group of advanced A Cappella singers from my choirs or classes is always a blast to work with.  Most of us know each other from choir or previous workshops, so there's a lovelt familiarity with the voices.  I am able to arrange to suit the individuals participating, which is such a pleasure.  We learned two songs;

Lilly (Pink Martini)

Come Home Someday (Lee Hayes)

613 Casual Choir Workshop

Our first 613 Cuba Workshop was absolutely magical.  Half of the VHW folks stayed on for the first 4 days, so we had a solid group of dedicated singers!  Rob Cosh and I put together this list of songs;

Helplessly Hoping (C,S, & N)

Crocodile Rock (Elton John)

Lovers in a Dangerous Time (Bruce Cockburn/Barenaked Ladies)

Addicted To Love (Robert Palmer)

Inside & Out (Feist Version)

Where Evil Grows (The Poppy Family)

Ice Cream (Sarah MacLachlan)

California Dreaming (Mamas and the Papas)

Beat It (Michael Jackson)

Livin' La Vida Loca (Ricky Martin)

The fave of the week was Steven Stills' Helplessly Hoping, in a parallel 3-part harmony.  Carlos, the Genreal Manager of the Iberostar Tainos, happened to be walking by during rehearsal time one day, and just about lost his mind with excitement; it's his favourite song!  There was something golden about this workshop, our first 613cc workshop.  What Rob and I really noticed was how quickly friendships bloomed with strangers, and how a daily rehearsal boosted everyone's singing ability.  The songs were truly gorgeous.

DETAILS

Vocal Harmony Workshop:

This is our 13th year of the week-long harmony workshop by the beach.

It's a week (or more!) of singing and fun in the sun!

We learn two songs, one English, one Spanish; one easy, one challenging.

The workshop is technically 2 hours a day, but generally folks tend to get together at the beach or pool in the afternoons for practicing in small groups, and the gang meets for an hour of cocktails and singing before dinner.

Cost is usually around $1700-$1900 for 7 days.  That's for EVERYTHING; flight, accommodations, food, cocktails, transportation, and workshop.

Prices on the longer stretch to come.  We book in September; a deposit of the workshop fee is required to save your spot.

 Participants are welcome to bring a non-singing roommate (we call them Klingons).

613 Casual Choir Workshop:

This year is the FIRST 613 Casual Choir 7-day workshop!  It's 2 hours of learning new songs, the 613 way!  Everyone learns the lead, then we toss in some harmonies, and voilá!  We sound amazing.  It's no pressure, easy-peasy pop singing, great for all the 613 keeners or anyone who loves to sing along to the radio in the car!

Cost is usually around $1700-$1900 for 7 days.  That's for EVERYTHING; flight, accommodations, food, cocktails, transportation, and workshop.
