Lee Hayes VOX Community Choir!

the Wednesday night choir

The Lee Hayes VOX choir has over 60 members; we meet every Wednesday from 7-9 at St. Luke's Anglican church, 760 Somerset St, corner of Bell (3 short blocks west of Bronson).  The repertoire is contemporary, a lot of pop, folk, and funk faves from the 60s, 70s, 80s…

What makes this choir unique is that all the arrangements are done by me; it's all A Cappella, in 4-8 part harmony.  I create a vocal orchestra.  It's an amazing sound!

What we do more than anything is have a ball, and we laugh as much as we sing.  It's a very friendly, relaxed, FUN bunch of people who are thrilled to be a part of such a unique vocal ensemble.  I teach by ear, but scores are available as well.  It’s pretty informal, but we get stuff done!

Email me if you'd like to check out the choir! The only ‘audition’ is just to see what your range is, or if you are tone-deaf (rare occurrence).  If you like what to see/hear, then you are welcome to join any time.

If you’re thinking of joining just for a month or two, it’s probably not the choir for you, as we have community performances now and then, with one big concert every spring to show off to our families and friends.  Having said that, there are those who take a week or two off once in a while due to work or family obligations, which is understandable and acceptable.  But the overall minimum attendance by each member must still be 75%.  Ish.

New members can join any time of the year!

The cost is $180 per six-month membership, and membership fees are due every September and March.  Choir runs 12 months of the year.  We have a pretty dedicated bunch; most people come almost every week.  If you join late in the season, you have the option of paying a weekly rate of $10 until the next session begins.
